Standish Standoff!

Postby stormboy » Wed Aug 17, 2011 1:45 pm

30 man tournament in November. (Tentatively, Saturday Nov. 12)
at CrossRoad Games in Standish Maine. (this is Stormboy assuming?)

The tournament will be a showcase of the entire hobby. So pencil the date in your calendar and get painting your armies.

Look to this space in the upcoming months for announcements, rules, and registration info.

- Addition info -
Forge World Rules and Models = OK with caveats -
1. No super-heavies or flyers.

2. You must have the relevant rules with you if you intend to use Forgeworld stuff. IE - you're expected to bring a codex if you're playing IG, you should bring the relevant IA if you are playing Elyssian Drop Troops.

3. We're going to request that army lists be submitted in advance as ya'll did for Battle of the Burbs. Any IA stuff should have a brief outline of any special rules so we can better judge composition.

4. Forge World rules must be accompanied by Forge World models or suitable conversions of same. i.e. don't show up with an Ork Warkopta on an index card. Show up with a model that is or looks like a Warkopta if you wish to use the rules for it.

Nifty! Thor, I'm not familiar with your location; are there places to eat during the 45 minute break nearby?

Ah yes, food will be provided, forgot about that. We'll be snagging a bunch of pizzas for lunch. The shop itself also has the standard gamer food fare, sodas, water, energy drinks, candy and general junk food. There's a corner store that's a minute walk from the shop also.

I am definitely coming to this. Very much looking forward to it.

I am hoping to pass through this weekend on a visit to the family - so I can check out the store.

Car pooling is encouraged. There is parking, but it can get crowded pretty fast! There's more parking up the street; but seeing as it's Maine in November, I wouldn't want to risk getting soaked.

Yes. I will drive with you in your car to places far north where we will push plastic men around on a 4 by 6 table. In a sweltering man-heated game store that, i'm assuming, lacks proper ventilation. For funsies :)

Ventilation is for pansies. besides, it'll be the depths of November. There'll be six feet of snow on the ground.

Registration is now up. We have a thread for the tournament here: http://forums.creativetwilight.com/inde ... opic=274.0

Right now, unfortunately, the only way to register is by calling the shop at 207-642-2612 or walking in, which might be a long walk for most of you. Payment is required upon registering so you'll have to give credit card info over the phone. I know this blows and we're trying to get the owner to use PayPal for it, you know, stepping into 2011.

We should also have the packet completed and up in the next few days, which will be added to the thread above. It's modeled after the format you all use so no surprises or anything.
